Red Creek Nature Ranch is proudly owned and operated by John Kothmann, along with his sons, James and Kevin. A little over 1,000 acres, the ranch has been in the Kothmann family for 108 years. In 2010, Red Creek was recognized as a Family Land Heritage honoree by the Texas Department of Agriculture for continuous agricultural operation for 100 years or more. From the untouched landscape to the abundance of wildlife, Red Creek is a place unlike any other.
A cabin built on the ranch in 1941 has been recently renovated. Known as the Quiet House, it is the perfect place for getting back to nature. In this space you are free to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate the spirit. Read and write until your thirst for knowledge and creative expression is quenched. Explore the many trails, breathe in the fresh air, and photograph the breathtaking sights. Bask in the countless stars and Milky Way at night. Rekindle your relationship with nature and visit the Quiet House.
Red Creek also offers short term free-ranging, low fence white-tailed deer hunts in the fall and Rio Grande turkey hunts in the spring. On-site lodging in the Hunter's Cabin is available for your convenience. In addition, hog hunting is offered year-round. View more information on the hunting page.
